Behind the camera
Hi, I’m Jen.
I’m the photographer behind The Rustic Sunflower. I’ve always been drawn to the little things — the way someone laughs when they forget the camera is there, kids being completely themselves, wind in someone’s hair, hands holding onto each other, mountains disappearing into storm clouds, and those tiny moments you don’t realize you’re going to miss until later.
You don’t need to know how to pose, and your kids definitely don’t need to behave perfectly. I’ll give you enough direction that you never have to wonder what to do, while still leaving room for the real stuff to happen.
My style is warm, natural, relaxed, and a little bit adventurous. I love families, seniors, couples, milestones, pets, beautiful light, Northern Utah scenery, and pretty much anything that tells a story.
More than anything, I want you to leave a session feeling like you got to spend some time together — and then receive photographs that make you say, “Yep. That’s us.”
I photograph the things you don’t realize you’re going to miss until later.
